About the workshop
Using the case study method and primary research, this course enhances student knowledge of sustainability issues. From the creation of the raw material until the logistic process to arrive in the department store, the course will explain in detail the impact the textile industry has on our environment and society. Attention is also paid to all the sustainable initiatives already used and tested in the market and future necessary best practices all brands have to implement to reduce their footprint.

Debora Florio is a Sustainable Fashion Advocate and a Textile Industry Educator. Her mission is to shed light on the often-overlooked facets of the textile industry. The journey began in the fast-paced world of fashion, where she spent a decade as an Area Manager for prominent fast fashion brands.
Driven by a desire for positive change, she transitioned from the fast fashion scene to become a beacon of awareness and education. Now, as an educator for international students, she unveils the hidden side of the textile industry, sharing insights into its environmental impact, social implications, and the urgency for change.
At the heart of her advocacy is the Bio Fashion Lab, a multifunctional space designed to inspire and inform. Here, she empowers individuals to make conscious choices by offering alternatives to the traditional shopping model. From sustainable materials to ethical production practices, her goal is to redefine fashion as a force for good.
